Damien Jourdain scored a double in the first half as Brive opened their account in the ongoing season of the European Rugby Challenge Cup with a 38-13 bonus point victory over Oyonnax at Stade Amedee-Domenech on Friday.

The first six minutes saw scrum half Julien Audy and fullback Gaetan Germain exchange penalties as the score remained at 3-3.

However, what transpired in the remainder of the first half was total dominance from the home side as they scored four tries in a span of 24 minutes through Petrus Hauman (13'), Jourdain (19' and 30') and Thomas Laranjeira (37') that helped the, attain the bonus point. Germain also slotted the extras on all the four occasions to take Brive to 28 point lead at half time.

As the third quarter went without a point, Brive had a clear advantage but Oyonnax, who got their opening try in the 63rd minute through Anthony Fuertes also crossed over 12 minutes later with this time Ulupano Seuteni going past the line. However, the difference continued to be still 18 points which was daunting for the visitors to closen.

Replacement Arnaud Mignardi capped off a fantastic game for Brive with a 78th minute touchdown as they completed a 38-13 victory that has taken them to the second position in Pool 5.
