James O'Connor is set to make his first appearance for Australia in six years after he was named on the bench by head coach Michael Cheika for the second-round clash in the Rugby Championship against Argentina in Brisbane.

O'Connor became eligible to represent Wallabies after he was signed by Queensland Reds and will be hoping to impress the team management with the World Cup round the corner.

Christian Lealiifano is also set to play his first Test since 2016 after he was named at fly-half over Bernard Foley while Will Genia replaces Nic White. Tom Banks' place at fullback has been taken by Kurtley Beale while Marika Koroibete has been preferred over Dane Haylett-Petty.

The final change sees Scott Sio replacing James Slipper as Australia aim to get their first win in the tournament after losing to Springboks in the opening round.
