Jaguares captain Agustin Creevy will miss the upcoming Super Rugby match against the Lions in Johannesburg after getting suspended for a week following a dangerous tackle on Jean Deysel in Buenos Aires.

Creevy, who pleaded guilty to the offence was handed a on- week ban by the SANZAAR Duty Judicial Officer Robert Stelzner for contravening Law 10.4 (e).

The incident which occurred during the game between the Jaguares and Sharks at Velez Sarsfield on 14th of May, saw Deysel stretchered off the field.

The recommended two-week suspension was reduced to one following Creevy's guilty plea and his clean judicial record.

Stelzner stated in his assessment that Creevy's claim of no intent to injury during the tackle was upheld after reviewing the footage.

“Agustin Creevy (the Player) and his representatives appeared before me and admitted the dangerous tackling charge as cited.

“I accepted the submission on behalf of the player that he did not deliberately tackle his opponent dangerously or with intent to injure him. He grabbed his opponent around the shoulder area and tried to bring him down to the ground at a time that his opponent was charging forward. The player’s version of events was supported by the video footage."

The Jaguars are still awaiting news on further again against their loose forward Leonardo Senatore, who was cited for an alleged bite during the match against Sharks which the Argentinian side marginally lost by 25-22.
