South Africa head coach Jacques Nienaber is looking forward for the remainder of the Rugby Championship competition that will now be played in Australia.

Following New Zealand's decision to pull out of the second round game against Australia in Perth and the home matches against the Springboks due to Covid restrictions, the South African squad continued to remain at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium where they played both their matches against Argentina waiting for a decision on the remainder of the tournament.

The tournament organisers SANZAAR revealed on Tuesday that Queensland will be hosting the final four rounds of the tournament.

Nienaber's men will be facing home side Wallabies in Gold Coast and Brisbane on 12th and 18th September before they lock horns with the All Blacks in the final two rounds to be played on 25th September and 2nd October with Townsville and Gold Coast being the venues.

“We are pleased that the Rugby Championship match schedule has been finalised and we are looking forward to continuing our campaign in Australia,” said Nienaber.

“We can now continue our planning to ensure that the players are ready for the next four matches from a physical and mental point of view, and we are excited about facing our old foes Australia and New Zealand again after kicking off the tournament well against Argentina.”

The Springboks will depart to Australia on Thursday.
