The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) and Leinster have confirmed that back-row Caelan Doris has signed a long term contract extension until 2027.

Doris made his professional rugby debut with Leinster in 2018 and has made 72 appearances for the province scoring 11 tries. He also went on to win four league titles with Leinster in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

A former Ireland Under 20 international, the 25-year-old made his Test debut with Ireland during the 2020 Six Nations clash against Scotland.

He was also part of Ireland's Six Nations Grand Slam earlier in the year and represented them in the 2023 World Cup in France. He was also named in the World Rugby men's team of the year.

"I am delighted to sign this contract extension and look forward to continuing my journey at home in Ireland with Leinster over the coming seasons," he said.

“It has been a dream come true to play in ambitious environments at provincial and international levels, and I believe that the best is yet to come, both for me personally and as a collective.

“I am hugely excited about what the future has to offer and would like to thank all those who have helped me in my career to date.”

Meanwhile, IRFU Performance Director David Nucifora is pleased with securing the services of Doris until 2027.

“The IRFU is committed to attracting and retaining the highest playing and coaching talent, and we are delighted that Caelan has signed this new deal.

“Since making his debut for Ireland three years ago, he has proved himself as a world-class performer. Today’s announcement is testament to his growing reputation and high standing both here in Ireland and internationally.

“Caelan is a leader who has displayed a consistently high level of performance, and I have no doubt that he will aim to reach higher levels in the coming years.”
