Glasgow head coach Franco Smith wants his side to maintain consistency as they face Harlequins in the round of 16 Investec Champions Cup game against Harlequins on Friday at Twickenham Stoop.

The Warriors are coming off with a 45-3 victory over Scarlets which was also their 10th win in the United Rugby Championship campaign that saw them rise to the second place in the table.

They will now be facing the Quins in their first knock out game of the season with the Premiership side coached by Danny Wilson, who was Smith's successor at Glasgow and he is wary of the task ahead.

“We are looking forward to keeping on improving and with Harlequins next it is going to be an important test for us,” said Smith.

“Europe is going into a stage that feels like a final which is a bit different to where the URC is currently. Of course, there’s going to be a do-or-die match to be played and we will have to lift our standard once again.

“I’m not going to make too much about them [Harlequins]. For us going into the final part of the season we have to play better.

"I think it will be important for us to become consistent, to have everybody integrated and to have our processes functioning so we can challenge at the best level".
