Scotland registered their first win under Gregor Townsend as they overhauled Italy by 13-14 in Singapore on Saturday.

The first 10 minutes saw Finn Russell and his counterpart Tommaso Allan exchange penalties. The scores remained levelled in the next 27 minutes following which Ali Price and Tim Visser crossed over for the Dark Blues as they claimed a 3-15 lead at half time.

The onslaught from Scotland continued as Ford crossed over twice on either side of a sin bin to Dean Budd to stretch the lead to 24 points.

The first try for Italy came in the 65th minute through Michele Campagnaro but a yellow card to Braam Steyn resulted in another touchdown for Scotland with Damien Hoyland going past the line. Angelo Esposito's last minute try reduced the gap but could not prevent Scotland from registering a 13-34 win.
