The Irish Rugby is set to heading towards resumption after the men’s and women’s Irish Sevens squads produced zero positive result after the latest round of Covid-19 testing.

A total of 47 Tests on players and staff were conducted earlier this week and all of them returned negative for Covid-19 which meant they can now access Irish Rugby Football Union's High Performance Centre from 4th August.

Earlier, the IRFU also had tests on players and staff of Leinster, Munster, Ulster and Connacht with none of the players or staff tested positive.

The PCR testing was carried out by Cork based company Advanced Medical Services on behalf of the IRFU and until now there has been 607 negative results with none being positive. Earlier, Pro14 organisers confirmed that the tournament is set to resume from 22nd August.
