England Rugby has announced a historic two-Test series against Argentina in July 2025, marking the team’s first tour to South America since 2017.

The matches will see Steve Borthwick’s side take on Los Pumas in what promises to be an electrifying clash of northern and southern hemisphere rugby powerhouses.

The Tests will be held on July 5 and July 12 in Argentina, with venues yet to be confirmed. The tour is expected to be a key part of England’s preparation for upcoming international campaigns, as well as an opportunity to strengthen their squad by exposing players to challenging conditions abroad.

The last time England visited South America was six years ago, during Eddie Jones’ tenure as head coach. That tour saw England secure a clean sweep in a two-Test series, with memorable victories in San Juan and Santa Fe.

The 2025 series, however, presents a fresh challenge as Argentina has shown significant progress on the world stage, reaching the semi-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Steve Borthwick, head coach of the England team, expressed his excitement about the upcoming tour:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our players to test themselves against one of the strongest teams in world rugby. Touring Argentina provides unique challenges—both on and off the field—that will help us grow as a squad.”

The two nations last met at the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France, where England claimed a hard-fought victory in the bronze medal match. This upcoming series promises to reignite the rivalry and deliver thrilling rugby action.
