Felix Jones has officially departed from his position within the England rugby coaching team, the Rugby Football Union (RFU) announced today.
The move comes as a culmination of Jones' dissatisfaction with Steve Borthwick’s setup, leading him to tender his resignation in August.
While initially slated to serve the remaining 12 months of his contract, Jones' involvement became increasingly limited. The RFU previously stated that the former Munster and Ireland fullback was contributing remotely to Borthwick’s team.
However, it later emerged that Jones was not in active communication with the coaching staff during England's November tests.
Jones' responsibilities as defence coach were temporarily assumed by Joe El-Abd during the autumn campaign. As of today, Jones will no longer have any role within the RFU, marking a definitive end to his association with the England setup.
