Wasps and England number eight Nathan Hughes has been cited for punching an opponent during the recent Gallagher Premiership encounter against Gloucester Rugby played at Ricoh Arena last weekend.

The 27-year-old was charged by the citing commission for striking Lewis Ludlow in the final minute of the game that was won by the Cherry and Whites 21-35.

If proved guilty, Hughes will miss the European Champions Cup games for Wasps against Leinster and Bath while England are set to kick-start their autumn internationals on 3rd November.

Meanwhile, Ludlow is also cited for a separate incident after he was alleged to have stamped Elliot Daly during the second half of the same game.

Both the hearings will take place on Wednesday.

Worcester's Ryan Bower, who was red-carded for a dangerous play during the game against Bristol was also cited and will attend a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.
