England have maintained their unbeaten streak under Eddie Jones as they completed a 3-0 whitewash against Australia with a 40-44 victory in the third Test in Sydney.

The first breakthrough was offered to England when wing Jack Nowell and centre Jonathan Joseph managed to make inroads to put the visitors dangerously close to the Australian try line in the ninth minute.

Prop Mako Vunipola was taken down a few meters away, however, a few phases later, Dan Cole managed to cross over for a touchdown to score the first try of the match in the 10th minute.

Centre Owen Farrell added the extras with a successful conversion kick as the visitors took the early initiative.
However, the euphoria of scoring a try lasted only a minute long for England as Australia responded with a try of their own.

Fly-half Bernard Foley aided by wing Dane Haylett-Petty and fullback Israel Folau, crossed over for a try. A TMO review was required for a forward knock-on ensuing from England lock Maro Itoje's hit on Haylett-Petty. However, after much video work, the try was awarded.

Foley added two more to his side's tally with a conversion as the scoreline read 7-7.

After a few neat picks and rolls, the Wallabies went on to score another try on the 20th minute resulting from Folau's amazing offload to unmarked Haylett-Petty.

Foley missed on the conversion attempt as the home side took a five-point lead.

England earned a penalty on the 25th minute as Australia collapsed the scrum. Farrell slotted it expertly to add three valuable points to England's tally.

However in 27th minute, Foley restored the lead back with a penalty kick after England were penalised for not releasing the ball.

Fullback Mike Brown caught a forward kick from wing Anthony Watson to drag a couple of tacklers over the try line as the scores were drawn level in the 29th minute.

Farrell added a couple more with another conversion kick as the visitors took lead for the first time in the match.
However, a penalty ensuing after England were caught offside allowed Foley to slot a penalty kick from 20m out at the brink of the first half. The scoreline depicted 18-17 as the Wallabies took a single point at the conclusion of the first half.

With only three minutes into the second half, a scrum few meters out from the Wallabies try line presented the visitors another golden try scoring opportunity. Billy V caught the opponents off-guard as the prop picked the ball from the back of the scrum to shoot down the blindside and finished it off with a dive.

Farrell missed the conversion as he kicked it slightly to the right from the right touchline.

The Wallabies were penalised for pulling down an England maul in the 47th minute and Farrell made no mistake with the penalty kick this time.

With a trail of seven points, the Wallabies launched another counterattack as scrum-half Nick Phipps' offload to flanker Michael Hooper resulted in a try which was promptly converted by Foley.

Farrell's kicking skills came to the visitors rescue once again as it has been throughout the series as the centre added another three valuable points for England.

However in 57th minute, the Wallabies put together 11 phases, slowly working their way in England's 22 to put Folau in a try scoring opportunity.

Foley's conversion gave the home side a crucial four-point lead with 20 minutes remaining on the clock.
However, England decided to peak at the right time to the dislike of the Wallabies.

Farrell slotted two more penalties in the 61st and the 69th minute sandwiched between a try on the 66th minute from replacement hooker Jamie George.

With a nine-point lead and just 11 minutes remaining on the clock, the game looked all but sealed for the visitors.

However, a penalty from Foley and a late try 82nd minute try from Taqele Naiyaravoro gave some solace to coach Michael Cheika and his men as they succumbed to another defeat to concede a 3-0 whitewash to the visitors.
