England 25-7 Australia, Twickenham
England delivered a commanding performance at Twickenham, overpowering Australia 25–7 to register their eighth consecutive Test win under Steve Borthwick.
George Ford opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a composed penalty after sustained pressure deep in Australia’s 22. Moments later, England’s forwards battered the Wallaby defensive line before Ben Earl dived over in the 20th minute from close range. Ford added the conversion in the 21st minute to extend the lead to 10–0.
Australia responded in the 33rd minute when Harry Potter intercepted a looping England pass inside his own half and sprinted 75 metres untouched to score beneath the posts. Tane Edmed converted in the 34th minute to narrow the deficit to 10–7 at halftime.
England reasserted dominance in the second half. Henry Pollock, fresh from the bench, powered over in the 58th minute after a sustained maul drive to make it 15–7.
Alex Mitchell then darted from the base of a ruck in the 71st minute, exploiting a gap near the fringe of Australia’s defence to score England’s third try.
Luke Cowan-Dickie capped his 50th appearance for England with a 74th-minute try from another well-executed driving maul, taking the score to 25–7.
In the added minutes, Pollock was shown a yellow card for repeated off-side infringements near the breakdown, but it had no bearing on the outcome as England saw out the closing phases confidently.
England's next fixture will be against Fiji on 8th November while Australia will be locking horns against Italy.
