Edinburgh 16 - 15 Zebre, Myerside

Edinburgh finally managed to end their three match losing streak as they edged out Zebre with 16-15 victory in their Pro 14 encounter at Myerside on Friday.

Zebre, who entered the game after ending Ulster's unbeaten streak were close to achieving their third win of the season but now find themselves in the fourth position in Conference A.

Jason Tovey kicked the proceedings for Edinburgh with an eighth minute penalty but 12 minutes later Zebre bounced back through a try from Johan Meyer to help them claim a two point lead.

Hooker Stuart McInally scored the opening try of the game in the 28th minute as the Scottish regional side ended the first half with a 10-5 lead.

Replacement Duncan Weir further extended Edinburgh's lead to eight points with his first penalty in the 58th minute but a late resurgence from Zebre saw them through Marcello Violi, who scored a converted try and followed it with a penalty as well allowed the visitors to a slender two point lead as the final 12 minutes kicked off.

Just as the game was heading for a tight finish with all three results possible, Weir held his nerve and kicked the decisive penalty in the 69th minute to help Richard Cokcerill's men complete a thrilling one point victory.
