Lions have confirmed that prop Dylan Smith will leave the club with immediate effect.
The 27-year-old made his professional rugby debut with Golden Lions in 2014 with his Super Rugby debut for Lions coming two years later.
Smith thanked the Lions for the support he received over the years.
“I would like to take this opportunity to wish the Lions all the best for the future," he told the club's official website.
"A big thank you to the players, coaches and administrators, you have all made such a big impact on my life over these last eight years. Lastly, thanks the Lions loyal fans.
"It has been a privilege to play for you. Wishing the boys all the success in the future,"
Meanwhile, Lions chief executive Rudolf Straeuli wished Smith good luck for his future endeavours.
“It has been incredible watching you develop into the player you are today, all the best Bulldog", he said.
