Dragons have confirmed that fly-half Will Reed has signed a new contract with the Welsh province.

He now follows the likes of Rio Dyer, Aaron Wainwright, Taine Basham, Matthew Screech and Angus O’Brien in the players committing their immediate future with Dragons in recent times.

A product of Dragons Academy, the 22-year-old made his debut for the club in the 14th round of the 2021/22 United Rugby Championship game against Bulls.

“I’m excited to sign new terms with my home club and continue my development here,” said Reed to the club's official website.

“The exposure to senior rugby and playing the number of games I have this season has been hugely beneficial to me.

“I’ve learnt a great deal and I’ll take that forward now and look to kick on for Dragons in the seasons ahead.”

Reed has overall played 34 times for Dragons and has amassed 107 points with head coach Dai Flanagan delighted with him remaining with the club.

“Will has had a very good season for us and really benefited from game time.

“His performances have improved throughout the season, and we are excited about his development curve and his continued growth.

“Will is still a young man with a bright future ahead of him and he is one of a number of exciting homegrown talents that we can build our club around.”

Dragons are positioned 15th in the United Rugby Championship table with three wins from 13 matches.
