The Bulls have bolstered their forward pack with the high-profile signings of two Springbok locks, Marvin Orie and Nico Janse van Rensburg, ahead of the 2026 Currie Cup campaign.

Orie, 32, returns to Pretoria on a season-long contract. Orie previously featured for the Bulls between 2014 and 2016 before spells with the Lions, Ospreys, Stormers, and Perpignan in France.

Over the 2022-2023 seasons, he earned 29 Springbok caps. His most recent international appearance was against Tonga in October 2023.

“The 32-year-old Orie joins the Bulls on a short-term deal from French club Perpignan ... The 16-cap Orie played his last Test for the Springboks on October 1, 2023, against Tonga in Marseille and made his debut in 2018 against Wales in Cardiff.”

Meanwhile, Janse van Rensburg also joins the Bulls, signing a deal through June 2027. A former Bull (2012–2016), he had been playing for Montpellier since 2016, amassing over 170 appearances in the Top 14.

“Van Rensburg has penned a deal with the Bulls until June 2027... Since then, he went on to amass a mammoth 174 caps for the French club.”

These two signings reflect the Bulls’ ambition to challenge for Currie Cup and United Rugby Championship glory. The club has already secured Springbok stalwarts Handré Pollard and Jan Serfontein, with Jeandre Rudolph and Dylan de Leeuwaere expected to follow.
