England and Saracens star Billy Vunipola has "unreservedly" apologised following his arrest in Majorca on Sunday.

Vunipola had been vacationing in Majorca following his game for Saracens, where they secured a 15-12 victory against Bath in the Premiership on Friday night.

According to local sources, Vunipola was reportedly involved in a disturbance, allegedly removing his shirt and making threats with bottles and chairs towards customers and staff. However, the player strongly refuted this account.

In a statement released by his club, Vunipola clarified that he was charged with resisting law enforcement and fined 240 euros after a speedy trial.

“I can confirm I was involved in an unfortunate misunderstanding when I was leaving a club in Majorca on Sunday, which got out of hand.

“I was charged with resisting the law and, following an ‘express trial’, I have paid a fine of 240 euros. The Spanish police investigation is now closed, and I am flying back to the UK today.

“I will obviously cooperate with the Saracens internal process and unreservedly apologise for any inconvenience to all involved.”
