Australia head coach Michael Cheika has recalled Bernard Foley at fly-half for the final round of the Rugby Championship clash against Argentina to be played in Salta on Saturday.

This will also be the third start for the 29-year-old in the tournament with Kurtley Beale starting at number 10 for the Wallabies in the last three rounds.

Beale now moves to inside centre with Matt Tommua dropping to bench on what will be his final game before he returns to his English Premiership club Leicester Tigers. The 28-year-old will not be in contention for the third and final Bledisloe game against New Zealand later this month but is expected to return for the November internationals.

The injury to Tatafu Polota-Nau sees Tolu Latu making a comeback among the replacements as Cheika has named an extended bench which will be trimmed before the game.

The Wallabies must win their final game against Argentina to avoid a last place finish in the Rugby Championship.

Australia line-up: Dane Haylett-Petty, Israel Folau, Reece Hodge, Kurtley Beale, Marika Koroibete, Bernard Foley, Will Genia, David Pocock, Michael Hooper (c), Ned Hanigan, Adam Coleman, Izack Rodda, Taniela Tupou, Folau Fainga’a, Scott Sio
