Bath Rugby will miss the services of hooker Niall Annett for the next two matches following his red card incident in the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership game against Bristol Bears.

Annett, who joined Bath after an eight year stint with Worcester was sent-off after a post-try melee as they went on to lose the encounter 29-31.

He faced an independent disciplinary hearing on Tuesday with the panel comprising of chaired by Sam Hillas KC (Chair) sitting with Daniel Gore and Olly Kohn.

"Annett received a red card for acts contrary to good sportsmanship, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.27, for running some distance to get involved in a melee during the match against Bristol Bears on 10 September. Annett accepted the charge," read a statement from the disciplinary committee.

He will now miss Bath's Premiership game against Sale Sharks and Wasps to be played on 17th and 23rd September respectively.
