Argentina U20 15-41 Australia U20, Beziers
Scorecard

Australia ran a five-try riot as they finished the World Rugby U20 Championship 2018 with a fifth place following a 15-41 victory over Argentina in Beziers.

Harry Hockings got Australia off the mark with an eighth-minute try and scrum-half Ryan Lonergan kicked the conversion to make it 0-7 but Argentina's response came back seven minutes later when Mateo Carreras crossed over and Joaquin De La Vega Mendia improved it to level the scores.

However, it was Australia, who ended the first half strong as Efi Maafu dotted down a 21st minute try and Lonergan kicked the conversion and a penalty to take them to 7-17 lead before the break.

Both, De La Vega Mendia and Lonergan traded penalties at the start of the second minute but Argentina were temporarily down by one man as Manuel Nogues was sin-binned and Thomas Ross made full use of the numerical advantage when he went past the line in the 57th minute and Australia increased their lead to 10-27 by the end of the third quarter.

A consolation try from Santiago Grondona in the 70th minute gave Argentina some hope but Australia scored two more tries from Mackenzie Hansen (78') and Isaac Lucas (80') to complete a 15-41 victory.
