Exeter have announced the signing of Australia international prop Greg Holmes.

Holmes, 32, has agreed a two-year deal with the Aviva Premiership club and will join them in time for next season from Super Rugby side Queensland Reds.

Holmes was part of Australia's 2015 World Cup squad and has won 24 caps.

"I 've been in Queensland all my career, so it is going to be a different challenge for me," Holmes said. "Right now, I feel a little bit nervous, but at the same time excited about what lies ahead.

"It's going to be a change of lifestyle and a different competition, but I think that is part of the attraction."

Exeter head coach Rob Baxter added: " We watched a lot of his games for Queensland and the games he featured in for Australia in the Rugby World Cup. I think anyone who looked at Australia's scrum will see they were one of the most destructive units in the tournament, and Greg played a large part in that.

"He is not just a set-piece prop, and his all-round package will suit us down to the ground. We've looked at the way he has played for the Reds and for Australia, and we like what we see."
