Lyon have confirmed the signing of Australia international Izack Rodda ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Rodda along with Harry Hockings and Isaac Lucas terminated their contract with Queensland Reds in May after they did not agree for a pay deduction that was announced due to the pandemic coronavirus.

The trio were the only Australian Super Rugby players to refuse a 60 per cent pay cut that was negotiated between Rugby Australia and the Players' Association.

Rodda started his professional rugby debut with Queensland in 2016 with his Super Rugby debut coming a year later. He also played 25 Tests for the Wallabies since his debut in 2017 and also featured for them in the World Cup campaign last year in Japan.

The 6ft 8in lock will be joined by Toulouse number eight Gillian Galan next season after both the players penned a one-year contract.

Mathieu Bastareaud, Colby Fainga’a, Joe Taufete’e and Leo Berdeu are also set to join the French club next season.
