Asafo Aumua scored a hat-trick of tries as New Zealand overpowered England by 17-64 in the final at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium on Sunday to win the sixth U20 Championship title.

It was tries from Dalton Papali'i and Pouri Rakete-Stones that got New Zealand off to a flying start of 0-12 in the first 10 minutes.

Even though Ben Earl helped England bounce back with a touchdown in the 18th minute, it was total domination from Baby Blacks in the remainder of the first half with Aumua (25', 37'), Isaia Walker-Leawere (28') and Luke Jacobson (40') all going the past the line as they claimed a massive 33 point lead at half time after which England failed to recover.

Josh McKay further extended the lead of New Zealand to 38 with an early try in the second half but a sin-bin to Ezekiel Lindenmuth provided some respite to England, who scored their second try through Alex Mitchell.

However, New Zealand looked relentless in their approach as Aumua scored his third try in the game while Jacobson also went past the line for the second time with Tom Christie being the seventh try scorer as they completed a 47 point record victory in final.
