Argentina and South Africa are set to clash in the final round of the 2025 Rugby Championship, with the match confirmed to take place at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, London, on Saturday, October 4.

The highly anticipated fixture could prove decisive in determining this year’s champion.

The encounter marks only the second Rugby Championship match to be staged outside the four core nations of Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The first such match saw Los Pumas face Australia in 2016, also in London.

Tickets for the blockbuster showdown will be available from Thursday, February 13, on Ticketmaster.co.uk and England Rugby, with prices starting at £55 for adults and £28 for under-16s.

Argentina’s head coach Felipe Contepomi is eager for his team to test themselves against the reigning world champions, stating:

"Facing the world champions is always a great challenge and a tough test that we have year after year thanks to The Rugby Championship. Playing against the best teams raises our level and is a great opportunity to keep growing."

Argentina has continued to grow on the international stage, securing victories over South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand in last year’s tournament, along with an impressive semi-final run at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Meanwhile, Rassie Erasmus' Springboks are no strangers to Allianz Stadium, having played three Test matches at the venue in the past 18 months.

Their victories over England (29-20) and Wales (41-13) in 2024, as well as their 35-7 triumph against New Zealand in 2023, were crucial moments in their journey to defending their Rugby World Cup title.

Erasmus expressed his excitement for another high-stakes match at the famous venue:

"It’s always exciting to play at Allianz Stadium, and we look forward to facing Argentina for the first time in the UK.

"We have no doubt this match is going to be another exciting spectacle given the intense battles between the Springboks and Los Pumas over the last few years, and we are looking forward to the challenge."

With South Africa currently holding both the Rugby World Cup and Rugby Championship titles, and Argentina ranked fifth in the world, the match is expected to be a high-intensity contest.

SANZAAR Chief Executive Brendan Morris highlighted the significance of this final-round fixture:

"The Rugby Championship is one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious international rugby tournaments, and it is exciting that we can take this big southern hemisphere clash to Allianz Stadium in London.

"The match may well play an important part in determining the eventual champion in 2025."
