Tom Youngs will miss England's autumn internationals after being ruled out of action by Leicester for three months with shoulder trouble.

The 27-year-old was injured in Saturday's 45-0 Aviva Premiership drubbing at Bath, and will now be sidelined for England's four-Test autumn series, Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday.

Youngs missed England's summer tour to New Zealand with coach Stuart Lancaster's blessing, to look after his ill wife.

The Leicester front-rower started the new campaign targeting extended club form for a quick return to international action, but this latest setback has ended those hopes.

Leicester have already lost club captain Ed Slater for the season, the lock forced to undergo knee surgery.

Long-term absentee Tom Croft has returned to action, however, with Geoff Parling fit again after shoulder problems too.

England face New Zealand, South Africa, Australia and Samoa in November as the build-up to Rugby World Cup 2015 escalates.
