Rugby World Cup organisers have been forced to postpone the date of their live ticket sale launch after problems with the online booking system run by distribution partner Ticketmaster.
The live sale of tickets for the summer showpiece was due to begin on Friday but will now not take place until Thursday May 29.
Earlier this week, Ticketmaster was forced to suspend sales of tickets for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after experiencing similar issues.
Ticket sales for Glasgow began on Monday but the company requested a suspension of the programme on Tuesday after customers endured long delays and transaction problems.
In a statement, England Rugby 2015 said: " The live sale date has been moved from Friday May 16 (tomorrow), following a request today from Ticketmaster for more time to test the online ticketing system they are providing to ensure that rugby fans have the best possible experience when booking tickets.
"The new sale date also gives rugby clubs more time to register their members on the system for the 500,000 tickets available.
"The Rugby Community Ticketing Programme will now run from May 29 to July 2 2014.
"Up to a million tickets will go on general sale from September 12 to September 29 2014 - these dates were announced last week, and have not changed."
In a further development, Talk Talk Business, a supplier of Ticketmaster, issued an apology after it emerged some customers attempting to buy Commonwealth Games tickets had been wrongly charged by the company.
A Talk Talk Business spokesperson said: " We are sorry that due to a human programming error, we did not deliver the service that had been agreed with Ticketmaster during the general ticket sale for the Commonwealth Games.
"This meant that those customers who called the Commonwealth Games ticket line and received the engaged tone were charged for the call in error.
"We apologise unreservedly to all affected customers, Glasgow 2014 and Ticketmaster for this. We will refund each and every customer that has been incorrectly charged."
