Worcester Warriors have announced that Italy international Renato Giammarioli will joint the Gallagher Premiership club ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The 27-year-old will be the seventh new signing made by Steve Diamond, who will assign the role of director of rugby next season and will follow his Italy team-mate Hame Faiva to Sixways.

Giammarioli will join the club from Zebre after being part of them since 2017. He also had represented Calvisano in the past and played for played for Italy Under-20s in 2014 and 2015.

He made his Italy debut in 2017 and has been capped five times with his last appearance coming in November 2021 against New Zealand.

“I am very glad to start this new chapter of my career with Worcester Warriors,” Giammarioli said.

“I am sure it will be an amazing experience that will develop my life skills both as a player and a man.

“I am looking forward to meeting my team-mates and experiencing the glorious English rugby culture.”

Worcester are positioned at 12th place in the Gallagher Premiership table with five wins from 22 games.
