Scarlets have confirmed that Wales international Wyn Jones has penned a new deal with the Pro14 club.

The 28-year-old made his senior debut with Llandovery RFC in 2010 before making his Scarlets debut in 2013 and recently made his 100th appearance for the Welsh regional side.

He was also part of the Scarlets squad that went on to win the Pro12 title in the 2016/17 season.

Jones' international debut for Wales came during the summer series clash against Tonga in 2017 and has played 30 Tests including the recently concluded Autumn Nations Cup.

“It is nice to be able to stay at my home region and play good rugby with a good group of boys," said Jones to the club's official website.

"I am enjoying my rugby at the moment, it is a great environment to be part of so it was an easy decision to re-sign.

“The squad here is as strong as I can remember, a great mix of experience and youngsters who are putting their hands up and we have ambitions to compete with the best in the PRO14 and in Europe.

“It was a proud moment for me to make my 100th appearance a few weeks ago and I feel that at the age of 28 there is plenty more to come from me and hopefully plenty more matches in a Scarlets jersey.”

Scarlets are positioned third in Conference B table of Pro14 with five wins from 10 matches.
