Wales captain Jac Morgan is likely to miss the remainder of the Autumn Nations Series after sustaining a suspected dislocated shoulder during his side’s 52-28 defeat to Argentina at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Sunday.

The flanker, who also represented the British and Irish Lions earlier this year, suffered the injury while scoring Wales’ third try and was later seen on the bench with his left arm in a sling.

Head coach Steve Tandy confirmed that Morgan’s injury appears serious and could rule him out for the rest of the tournament.

“It’s probably a dislocated shoulder, so it’s not looking good for Jac and the rest of the autumn,” Tandy said.

“He’s a world-class player, he’s huge for us and we know how much he loves playing for Wales and leading the team. It’s a massive blow, but it’s also an opportunity for someone else.”

Morgan’s absence comes as a major setback for Tandy in his first campaign as head coach, especially after Wales conceded seven tries in what became their heaviest-ever defeat to Argentina.

Wales will now take on Japan next on 15th November following which they will lock horns with formidable opponents in New Zealand and world champions South Africa later this month.
