Newcastle Falcons have confirmed that prop-forward Trevor Davison has left the Gallagher Premiership club with immediate effect.

Davison had been part of the Falcons since 2017 and has 105 first-team appearances for the club. He will now head to Northampton Saints.

“It’s a shame to see Trevor go, especially mid-contract, and we were very much looking forward to having him as part of our squad next season," said Newcastle's chairman of rugby Matt Thompson.

“That being said, we have accepted his request to move on and will not stand in his way. It’s been a pleasure having him at Newcastle Falcons and we wish him all the best as he joins up with the Northampton Saints team.”

Meanwhile, the club also confirmed that Oisin Heffernan will arrive at Kingston Park from the Saints.

Heffernan, a product of Leinster Academy, spent time in Australia playing in Queensland’s Premier Rugby competition before he was signed by Nottingham in 2018. He switched to Saints in 2021 but a hamstring injury limited his appearances for the club.

He has played seven times for the Saints until now.

Newcastle Falcons are languishing at the 10th place in the Gallagher Premiership table after managing just five wins from 16 matches.
