Ireland tight-head prop Tom Clarkson has been called up to the British & Irish Lions squad in Australia to strengthen the front row ahead of the opening Test against the Wallabies.

Clarkson, who recently scored in Ireland's record win over Portugal, joins the touring party as additional cover in the front row department.

The Lions landed in Brisbane on Sunday following an unbeaten run of five matches over 14 days. During their successful warm-up phase, the team played and won matches across Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, and Adelaide, showing dominance and squad depth ahead of the Test series.

Under head coach Andy Farrell, the Lions posted victories over Western Force (7–54), Queensland Reds (12–52), NSW Waratahs (10–21), ACT Brumbies (24–36), and an Australia-New Zealand Invitational XV (0–48). The run of form has built strong momentum for the tourists heading into the first of three Test matches.

In addition to Clarkson, Ireland and Leinster utility back Jamie Osborne officially linked up with the squad in Brisbane. Osborne was called up following injuries in the Lions backline, adding flexibility to the squad's midfield and back-three options.

England hooker Jamie George is also on his way to Australia from Argentina after being drafted in to replace the injured Luke Cowan-Dickie. George had initially been slated to play in England’s Test against Argentina but was withdrawn following his Lions selection.

The Lions will now begin their preparations in Brisbane for the first Test against Australia, scheduled to take place this Saturday at Suncorp Stadium..
