The best teams in the UK, and who will be successful next season

The best Rugby Teams throughout the UK all take part in the Premiership Rugby league or more commonly known as the Gallagher Premiership.

This is the UK’s premier league in rugby and provides some breathtaking games that are a must-watch for any rugby fan.

In today's article, we go over a brief history of the Gallagher Premiership and some of the best teams that look to be successful in the next season!

History Of The Gallagher League

Rugby leagues were once considered dirty, this was due to the belief that making a league would promote dirty play while also adding pressure on clubs to pay the players. In fact, in the early days' clubs managed their own fixtures and traditional games with very few organised tournaments such as the County Championship.

It wasn’t till 1972 till Rugby leagues were formed, since then the leagues have evolved drastically! 1996 was a big year for Rugby fans with the dawn of the Rugby Union. This allowed clubs to attract wealthy benefactors to help promote the sport and teams further, unfortunately, this only helped a few teams while others were forced into administration after their supposed backers pulled out.

It was the 200-2002 seasons that helped shape the league as we know it today going through several revamping for the season structure the league started to take shape.

Best Rugby Teams

Time to get to the exciting part, the teams themselves!

Bath

With Rhys Priestland back in Wales, the hot-and-cold play of Bath relies heavily on how soon Danny Cipriani adapts to the No. 10 position. Bath’s forwards Zach Mercer and Henry Thomas have both recently left Bath for Montpellier, thankfully No 8 Jaco Coetzee should be of massive help when it comes to ball carrying.

Meanwhile, England’s forgotten winger Joe Cokanasiga is finding his old form back showing glimpses of brilliance.

Bristol

It will be interesting to see how the Bears do against a depleted Saracens team in their season opener, especially after the emotional roller coaster of their play-off semi-final loss to Harlequins which upset the odds at trustworthy UK betting sites leaving punters in a state of disbelief.

Although they will be among the contenders once more, Bristol will be without Ben Earl and Max Malins, who were both on loan from Saracens. That being said, they are still among the favourites to take next season's top positions.

Exeter

It's safe to assume that the Chiefs are still puzzled over their playoff loss. There hasn't been a major overhaul at Sandy Park or a flurry of signings, but Exeter still looks like the strongest squad in the country.  While Tomas Francis is back in Wales, the front row will be adequately covered by the likes of Josh Iosefa-Scott of Waikato and former Bath prop Sam Nixon. Once Jack Nowell is well again, he will play a crucial role again for the Chiefs and the England squad.

Exeter is the favourite to take this season's crown and after last year's dominance, it’s no surprise at all. Let’s just hope that Exeter Chiefs put their best foot forwards to end the season.

Harlequins

A surprising victory thanks to an amazing final victory, Quins will keep playing flamboyant rugby with Marcus Smith providing the panache after an underrated pack even if a repeat seems impossible.

As Danny Care keeps proving why Eddie Jones' decision to place him on grass was presumptuous, the team has brought in Tommaso Allan from Treviso to play fly-half. The centre for Scotland, Huw Jones, is a great addition to the Warriors.

Harlequin's trust in university talent has definitely helped the squad challenge for the title.

Leicester

In the East Midlands, Steve Borthwick is brewing up a strong bunch of forwards for his own hardened image. The recent signing of Marco van Staden has boosted the already hard-nut South Africans in the forward positions. Bryce Hegarty, an Australian player, may prove to be a pivotal acquisition. He's a versatile player who can take over at fullback or flyhalf after Zack Henry departed for France.

Leicester is looking to be a strong contender for the upcoming season winning many punters and even favouring them to take the crown. With strong forwards and young upcoming talent gearing up for even the England squad, this team looks as battle ready as ever.
