Stuart McInally will captain Edinburgh against Agen on Friday having committed himself to the Gunners until the 2018-19 season.

The hooker has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal and now hopes to aid Alan Solomons' team progress into the European Challenge Cup quarter-finals, starting with a victory against the Top 14 outfit at Murrayfield.

Edinburgh are currently third in Pool 5 but with two games to play could still qualify as group winners.

McInally said: "I'm really happy to have extended for another couple of years.

"I've been part of this process of rebuilding the club since Alan arrived, I'm now coming through in my new position as hooker and it's a really exciting place to play at the moment."
