Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has announced a 33-man squad for the final two Rugby Championship matches against Argentina, keeping most of the players who featured in the Freedom Cup victory over New Zealand.
South Africa will be without several experienced names. Locks Lood de Jager and Salmaan Moerat, loose forward Jean-Luc du Preez, fullback Aphelele Fassi, props Gerhard Steenekamp and Frans Malherbe, along with utility back Kurt-Lee Arendse, are all unavailable due to injury.
The group is made up of 18 forwards and 15 backs. The Springboks will host Argentina at Hollywoodbets Kings Park in Durban on 27 September before travelling to London for the return fixture at Twickenham on 4 October.
Following further medical assessments in camp, up to three more players may be added later in the week. Around 30 players are expected to travel to London for the final match.
