South Africa captain Siya Kolisi has warned his side not to underestimate Argentina in Saturday’s Rugby Championship finale at Twickenham.

The Springboks lead the table after their 67-30 win in Durban, but a slip-up could prove costly with New Zealand close behind.

Kolisi said the Pumas had impressed him with their discipline and consistency in recent years.

"It's the fight and also, compared to the years before, the discipline they have and how consistent they are in the way they play.

"And they haven't taken away the Argentinian flair at any moment of the game. When it's broken, they take the opportunities.

"I've watched them against New Zealand and against Australia, where they can turn from their own goal-line, the way they can attack you and go score down by the posts. You have to be alert all the time."

Assistant coach Mzwandile Stick recalled South Africa’s 29-28 defeat in Santiago del Estero last year as a reminder of Argentina’s threat.

“On a good day, they can punish you,” he said, stressing the importance of maintaining focus for the full 80 minutes.

Though technically Argentina’s “home” fixture, Twickenham provides a neutral setting. Kolisi said the Boks must use their experience to stay composed and seize the opportunity to secure back-to-back Rugby Championship titles.
