Shane Williams: where did it all go right?

Will there ever be another Shane Williams is the question on the minds and lips of all welsh rugby fans and a lot of rugby fans too with 53 try's in 75 caps he is one of the greatest wingers the modern game has seen.

The 2008 IRB world player of the year has not always been the star winger in everyone's eyes going to the world cup in Australia in 2003 as third choice scrum half before going on to show his pedigree as a class winger against the all blacks scoring a try.

Young Shane started his playing career for his local club Amman united RFC before going on to move to Neath RFC and then the Ospreys making 127 appearances  and scoring 276 so far where he looks set to end his career after reportedly turning down offers from France.

He made his debut against France in 2000 as a sub where he has gone on to win 75 caps and counting and has gone on two lions tours 2005 in New Zealand and in 2009 in South Africa winning 4 caps and scoring 2 test try's and scoring five try's in a tour match against Manawatu in New Zealand also going on to represent the Barbarians on a few occasions.

With a few winners medals and awards to his name he is used to winning with two grand slam medals, three league winners medals with the Ospreys and an EDF energy cup winner and runner up medals with the ospreys and the IRB world player of the year 2008 beating all blacks captain Richie McCaw and the BBC Wales sports personality of the year the same year beating off competition from boxer Joe Calzaghe and Nicola Cook and who knows maybe a world cup winners medal soon also this year Shane has got his own show on the welsh speaking channel S4C called Clwb Rugbi Shane where he has gone back to Amman United RFC with help from friends to coach Amman united youth RFC.
