London Irish have confirmed that Australia international Sekope Kepu has left the club with immediate effect due to personal reasons.

Kepu joined the Exiles ahead of the 2019/20 season and has played 14 Premiership games for the club since then. He also represented Waratahs and Bordeaux Begles in the past.

London Irish director of rugby Declan Kidney wished Kepu good luck on his future endeavours.

“Whilst we are desperately disappointed, in these unprecedented times, we understand the human element of Sekope’s situation.

“We wish Sekope and his family well – and thank him for his contribution to the club."

Kepu is the most-capped prop in Australian Test history having featured in 110 games at the international level that includes 17 appearances in the 2011, 2015 and 2019 World Cups combined.

London Irish are positioned sixth in the Gallagher Premiership table with three wins from eight matches.
