Sean Cronin Interview

Talking Rugby Union caught up with Leinster and Ireland Hooker Sean Cronin - check out his answers below!

1. How do you think this season went  with Connacht Sean?

Last season was successful in terms that Connacht were competitive in every game we played and made progress in our standing in the Magners League

2. Connacht's front row was always a threat with you, Brett and Jamie. With Jamie going with you to Leinster will it be strange training without Brett?

Yea it is strange, Brett is a terrific player and a great bloke off the pitch so we were good friends.

3. Are you looking forward to moving to Leinster?

It's going to be a huge season for me, in joining a club like Leinster standards are so high so you must be on top form whenever you play.

4. Tough call for a starting place between you and Richardt Strauss, you must be looking forward to the challenge?

Richard had a big year last season but competition is what drives you on so it's about backing yourself and giving it everything.

5. Playing in a club with Brian O'Driscoll, Sean O'Brien, Leo Cullen, Jonathan Sexton must be something you are looking forward to even though you have played with them at International level.

There all extremely talented players who are proven at the top level so for me I can't wait to be playing with these guys and bringing something to the team.

6. How are you feeling about the Rugby World Cup approaching?

With the World Cup approaching places are on the line and it's the pinnacle of anyone's career so it's about preparing as best as you can and gettin on that plane!!!

7. With competition between your Rory Best, Jerry Flannery and Damien Varley, you always have to be at your best do you enjoy the competition?

Having competition is great because you know there is no margin for error and it pushes you on to perform to your max.

8. What are you going to miss most about Connacht?

I'll miss the guys in the squad the most, there all great guys who were brilliant to play with.

9. You were at Munster for 3 years before moving to Connacht how come you moved?

I had a few great years at Munster but I felt it was time for me to move on to further my career and progress so I'm happy I made the move.

10. What was going through your head when you made your first cap for Ireland?

Get me on the pitch!!!!...there is no better feeling than that first cap, it's a huge honour.

11. Your first start for Ireland was against New Zealand right in the deep end! Did you enjoy that occasion?

Yea it was a huge deal for me and my family, obviously very daunting against the All Blacks but I enjoyed the experience but not the result.
