Scottish Rugby has announced the appointment of David White as its new Chief Financial Officer, marking a key step in the union’s efforts to strengthen financial oversight and enable sustainable growth.

White will officially take on the role from 15 July and join the Scottish Rugby Limited Board, where he will help guide future investment strategy and governance.

David White brings more than two decades of senior financial and executive experience across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.

Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Carr’s Group plc, having joined the company as CFO. There, he led strategic operations across the agricultural and engineering sectors, driving transformation and commercial efficiency in complex international markets.

Before that, White spent 16 years at Aggreko, a global leader in temporary power and energy solutions.

He advanced from Group Financial Accountant to Finance Director and later to General Manager, overseeing operations with multimillion-pound budgets and leading business units across international territories.

His career is defined by his ability to pair rigorous financial discipline with broad operational leadership.

Speaking on his appointment, White expressed his excitement at joining during a transformational period for Scottish Rugby.

“I’m delighted to be joining Scottish Rugby at such a pivotal time for the game in this country. I look forward to contributing to the future success of the organisation on and off the pitch,” he said.
