Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has announced a 36-man squad for the upcoming autumn internationals that includes 10 uncapped players.

Centres Phil Burleigh and Chris Harris, wing Byron McGuigan and scrum-half Nathan Fowles as well as the front-row trio of Jamie Bhatti, George Turner and Darryl Marfo, lock Scott Cummings and back-row forwards Luke Hamilton and Jamie Ritchie.

For Newcastle centre Harris, Sale flyer McGuigan - who currently jointly-tops the Premiership try-scoring charts - Welsh-born Leicester flanker Hamilton and the Edinburgh pair of Fowles and Marfo, this is their first involvement with the full Scotland set-up.

Despite the presence of 10 uncapped players in the squad, Townsend has ruled out the possibility of an experimental line-up but insisted that the players deserved to be named in the squad.

"We pick this team on form," he said. "We want players who are working hard and are on form because we need to be at our best when we take on Samoa, the All Blacks and Australia.

"We'll be looking to put our best team out in all three games. It's up to the players to play in all three.

"We know we have to play at our best against these teams - but n ow is not the time to try things out that we're not sure about.

"The way the players are playing for their club, they should be standing up and saying, 'I'm ready to play for Scotland'.

"These guys are absolutely here because we think they are ready for that."

Scotland skipper Greig Laidlaw along with Richie Gray, Mark Bennett, Allan Dell, Alasdair Dickinson, Sean Maitland, Matt Scott, Fraser Brown and Duncan Taylor are all sidelined because of injuries while Harlequins wing Tim Visser misses out on selection.

Stuart Hogg and wing Tommy Seymour also return to the Scotland set-up after their involvement with the British and Irish Lions in their recent tour of New Zealand.
