Scarlets sign prop Joe Jones from Sale Sharks

Scarlets have announced the signing of Welsh tight-head prop Joe Jones with immediate effect.

Jones started with Cardiff in 2013 and has represented Perpignan, Doncaster Knights and Coventry before joining Sale Sharks on a third stint recently.

He has featured for Sale Sharks in 11 games last season including three matches in the Champions Cup and also had represented Wales Under 20 team on five occasions in 2014 and 2015.

Jones will link up with the Scarlets squad ahead of Sunday’s West Wales derby against the Ospreys after Samson Lee is sidelined with an injury while Sam Wainwright is unavailable.

Scarlets currently are at the 15th position in the United Rugby Championship table with a solitary win from five matches.
