Munster 22 - 46 Scarlets, Lansdowne Road

A clinical six try performance from Scarlets saw them defeat Munster by 22-46 at Lansdowne Road to clinch the 2016/17 season of Pro 12 title.

Fly-half Tyler Bleyendaal kicked a sixth minute penalty for Munster to get them off the mark but Liam Williams on what was his final outing for the Welsh regional side before his switch to Saracens crossed over two minutes later to gain a two point lead for Scarlets.

Rhys Patchell missed out on the conversion but made amends with a penalty as Scarlets increased their lead to five points. Steffan Evans further pressed on the advantage and went past the line in the 19th minute as the score moved to 3-15 in favour of Wayne Pivac's men.

Gareth Davies spilled a pass near Munster line but few minutes later he made amends as he strolled past the post following an offload from Scott Williams and in the 30th minute lock Tadhg Beirne too contributed with a try as Scarlets stretched their lead to 3-29.

Bleyendaal provided some respite at the stroke of his half time with a converted try, reducing the gap to 19 points at the end of the first half.

Patchell's penalty remained the only points in the third quarter as Scarlets had a 22 point lead. But, the final 10 minutes were intense as Andrew Conway and Keith Earls' tries were negated by touchdowns from DTH van der Merwe and Jonathan Davies while Williams converted both the tries to seal a 24 point win for Scarlets and most importantly their first Pro 12 title since their 2004 Celtic League win.
