Llanelli Scarlets bounced back from defeat to Toulon to beat Leicester Tigers 15-3 in Pool Three of the European Champions Cup at Parc y Scarlets.

They led 8-3 at the break and confirmed victory in the second half after scrum-half Aled Davies scored an interception try, running in from 40 metres.

Owen Williams gave Leicester an early lead with a penalty but Scarlets quickly hit back with Harry Robinson touching down.

Rhys Priestland missed the conversion and two further penalties before Steven Shingler took over kicking duties and slotted over a penalty.

The half ended with Williams missing a penalty for Leicester.

Davies then charged through after 61 minutes to extend Scarlets' lead and Shingler converted.

And despite Scarlets having to reshuffle their pack late on due to injuries and substitutions, the home side held on and denied Leicester even a losing bonus point.

Toulon beat Ulster 23-13 in the other game in the pool, which puts them clear at the top on eight points ahead of Leicester and Scarlets (four points apiece) and Ulster (one point).
