Wales have called up uncapped Saracens prop Sam Wainwright in the squad for the upcoming tour of South Africa.

The decision follows after Leon Brown is sidelined with a nerve problem on his shoulder that he sustained while playing for Dragons.

He now becomes the third uncapped player in the squad named by Wayne Pivac after Leicester flanker Tommy Reffell and Cardiff number eight James Ratti.

Wainwright has been part of Saracens since 2019 and played for them in six Premiership games and two European Challenge Cup matches this season.

The 24-year-old will link up with the Wales squad at Vale Resort training base following the conclusion of the ongoing Premiership season.

The three-game Test series between Wales and South Africa will kick-off on 2nd July at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
