Saracens have announced that back-row Andy Christie has penned a new contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.

Christie made his senior debut for Saracens in 2018 and recently captained the first team during the Premiership Rugby Cup campaign. He has gone on to play 33 appearances for the club.

The 22-year-old was selected for England Under-20s against the Junior Springboks in April 2019.

“I couldn’t be happier to continue my career at Saracens," he told the club's official website.

"I love the club and the people here and I know there’s nowhere better for me to develop.”

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is delighted with Christie extending his stay at the club.

“Andy is a player that we are very excited about so we are delighted that he has extended his stay at Saracens.

He has shown real progression over the last 18 months and we firmly believe he can fulfil his potential in the seasons ahead.”

Saracens are positioned second in the Gallagher Premiership table with six wins from nine matches.
