Wasps flanker Sam Jones and London Irish lock Elliott Stooke have been charged by the Rugby Football Union following their tussle in the Aviva Premiership encounter on Saturday.

The incident happened in the 44th minute of the game held at Ricoh Arena when the pair was involved in a lengthy tussle with Jones reacting to being held.

Stooke has been charged with playing an opponent without the ball, contrary to law 10.4(f) while Jones has been charged with punching or striking, contrary to law 10.4(a) following the game which Wasps went on to win by 38-12.

The pair will now appear at 7pm Wednesday evening before a disciplinary panel comprising of Jeremy Summers, Becky Essex and Martyn Wood.

Following their victory, Wasps are scheduled to take on Exeter Chiefs at the Sandy Park in the Aviva Premiership semi-final on 21st May.
