Wasps scored six tries against a dispirited London Irish side by 38-12 at Ricoh Arena on Saturday. However, Dai Young's men failed to secure a home semi-final in the Aviva Premiership play-offs.

Thomas Young (25'), Charles Piutau (34'), Christian Wade (39'), Dan Robson (62'), Josh Bassett (66') and Ashley Johnson (69') crossed the line for Wasps as Ruaridh Jackson kicked six points with two penalties and Jimmy Gopperth made a successful conversion.

Johnny Williams (22') and Alex Lewington (60') were the two try scorers for London Irish as Theo Brophy Clews scored a solitary conversion.

Jackson's two penalties and tries by Thomas, Piutau and Wade gave Wasps a decent 15-point lead at the half-time whistle.

Irish Winger Alex Lewington scored a try for his side in the 59th minute to reduce Wasps' lead down to nine points.
However tries by Robson, Bassett and Johnson sealed the match for Wasps as they cruised home comfortably.

The Exeter Chiefs resounding 62-24 rout over Harlequins at the Twickenham Stoop now means Youngs' Wasps will need to travel to Sandy Park on Saturday, 21 May.
