Sale Sharks have announced that former captain Will Addison will be returning back to the Gallagher Premiership ahead of the 2024/25 season.
A product of Sale Sharks Academy, Addison made his senior debut with the club in 2010 and has played over 100 games for the Gallagher Premiership club.
He was named the Sharks' captain ahead of the 2017/18 season, having previously captained the side in the absence of Josh Beaumont.
The 31-year-old made a switch to Ulster in 2018 but his involvement with the Irish province was hampered by injuries. He now returns back to Sale Sharks and has represented England Under 20 side in the past. He also featured in five Tests for Ireland between 2018 and 2020.
“It was really tough to leave Sale but I did it for the right reasons and I have loved my time in UIster. I played international rugby for Ireland and that was a huge dream of mine," he told the club's official website.
“But I’ve remained a big Sale supporter and I’ve loved watching the club going from strength to strength in the last couple of years. Before I left, Simon Orange told me the club was going places and he was right.
“To see the crowds in the stadium grow and how much emphasis the club have put on building a connection with the north has been fantastic."
Sale Sharks will be taking on Bath Rugby in the semi-final of the Premiership at The Recreation Ground on Saturday.
