Leinster Rugby's towering lock RG Snyman has been named the United Rugby Championship (URC) Players' Player of the Season for 2024/25.
Voted by team captains and vice-captains from all 16 franchises, the accolade is a resounding endorsement of Snyman’s explosive debut season with Leinster.
After moving from Munster, the Springbok international quickly established himself as a cornerstone in the Leinster pack.
Snyman’s presence on the field has been both physically commanding and tactically astute. Known for his brutal ball carries and remarkable offloads, the South African giant was central to Leinster finishing at the top of the URC table.
His blend of brute strength and finesse drew admiration across the competition, and players from opposing sides acknowledged the unique threat he posed.
"A threat all over the park. Strong in the set-piece and has a unique skillset which makes him very tough to play against."
His selection places him among past winners of the award, including Jack Crowley (Munster, 2023/24), Dan Sheehan (Leinster, 2022/23), and Evan Roos (Stormers, 2021/22). For Leinster, Snyman’s acquisition has proven to be one of the defining moves of the season.
